Braddock's in-class enrichment programs cover a variety of performing arts and music disciplines throughout the school year

Conga Kids Conga Kids believes that magic is created at the intersection of community, dance, and music. Through dynamic lessons taught by artists from Los Angeles’s vibrant dance community, our students (aka “the Conga Kids!”) explore styles including Merengue, Samba, Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Latin Boogaloo, Vernacular Jazz, and various Street/ Hip Hop styles.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Driven by the needs and priorities of the participating teachers, expert teaching artists design and lead participatory performing arts workshops for Braddock students.  

  • Grades 2 - 3

Meet the Masters is a volunteer Art History and Art Appreciation program intended to acquaint children with the world of art. 

  •  Grades 4 - 5

Art in Action offer age-appropriate lessons that provide a high-quality visual art curriculum. The multifaceted lessons develop students’ critical-thinking skills, creative confidence, hands-on skills, visual literacy, self-esteem, and an appreciation of other cultures. Art in Action trains classroom teachers, art teachers and/or parent volunteers to teach the program

Santa Monica Youth Orchestra (SMYO) is a non-profit program that provides a welcoming, diverse, inclusive, integrative music program that engages our students in bi-cultural Mariachi and Musicianship.  It seeks to bridge economic divisions and cultural boundaries and foster personal and social change.

  • Instrumental Music Applications are available at the start of the school year. Please inquire with Mr. Davis, the orchestra teacher.   

LAUSD Dance provides a rigorous, standards-based dance curriculum which allows our students to dance, create dances, observe and appreciate dance, and make connections to, with and through dance to the world around them and - ultimately - to themselves.

LAUSD Theatre teach foundational skills through Artistic Perception, Creative Expression, Historical & Cultural Context, and Connections, Relationships, and Applications.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

 

STAR Nova offers enrichment classes in the areas of Academics, STEAM Education (science, technology, engineering, art and math), Language, Performing Arts, Sports & P.E., Recreation, Visual and Media Arts and so much more! STAR Nova enrichment classes take place once or twice a week, allowing for a quality class with a more individualized approach tailored to the specific needs and interests of each student. 

Digital Dragon offers after school classes Coding, Robotics, Game Design, and Minecraft. Each semester is a new theme

Ni Hao Chinese is a Chinese language school located in Southern California. They host a Chinese after school program with a focus on homework help, conversational practice, and various other activities incorporating Chinese arts and culture.

EDS Spanish is an after-school class with an academic curriculum. It is a fun and practical class to learn Spanish vocabulary and conversation skills.

America SCORES Los Angeles is a non-profit after school program that serves Title 1 schools using soccer, creative writing, and service learning to inspire the youth of urban Los Angeles. America SCORES LA promotes a healthy lifestyle, fosters teamwork, and builds self-confidence.

Hot Shots Tennis offers after school tennis classes on campus to develop character traits and tennis skills.

 

Upstage Theatre Schools is a provider of after school performing arts education for children. Founded on the principle that theatre should be fair and fun, Upstage productions feature ensemble casting, reasonable rehearsal hours, and a safe environment for children to find their own level in their own time

West LA Chinese Children's Chorus is a provider of year-round Mandarin immersion music programs for children. The Mandarin Music Program is designed to keep music fun and develop students' understanding of music concepts and music reading, as well as build imagination and boost self confidence. In this Mandarin immersive environment, children will also develop Mandarin listening, speaking, and literacy skills through singing in Mandarin.
